MadCatz Announces Modern Warfare 2 Accessories

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2MadCatz detailed a range of new PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 accessories designed for use with Modern Warfare 2.

The accessories, announced two weeks ago, will be available across North America and “key European” territories “with the release” of Activision’s long-awaited FPS sequel.

The accessories include the following:

Modern Warfare 2 Combat Controller (360) – A wired “latency free” controller with two extra buttons at the back of the controller which can be mapped to any thumbstick or button command (ideally the melee and sprint buttons, thus freeing up the thumbsticks). Most comically, the controller also features “Immersive Analog ThumbStick Backlighting” (presumably for those who like to stare at their controller while playing) and Dual Vibration Feedback. MSRP:  $49.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Throat Communicator (360)- Based on a military design, the throat communicator reduces background noise and is compatible with the standard 360 controller and the combat controller above. MSRP: $29.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Faceplate and Console Skinz – Yes that’s skin with a “z”, kids. It wraps around the sides of your console to create “a fully immersive themed landscape.” Indeed. MSRP: $29.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Combat Controller (PS3) – Again has the two extra buttons, backlit thumbs and an internal battery which can be charged via the PS3’s USB port and will provide up to 60 hours of gameplay. MSRP: $49.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Wireless Bluetooth Headset (PS3) – Featuring a high-quality, noise-reducing microphone, it uses Bluetooth 2.0 tech and can operate 30 feet away from the console. MSRP: $39.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Controller Faceplates (PS3 and 360) – Highly durable with a high gloss finish. MSRP: $14.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Combat Game Pad (PC) – For that rare breed of PC gamer who prefers a pad to keyboard and mouse controls in FPS games. No, we’ve never met one either.  With fully analogue sticks, four trigger buttons and four action buttons, the pre-programmed pad also comes with button mapping software and is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP. MSRP: $24.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Sniper Mouse (PC) – Features adjustable DPI (dots per inch) settings allowing you to alter the cursor speed at any time. MSRP: $49.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Combat Keyboard – Features “Anti-ghosting” for key action areas and a Windows key lock meaning you won’t accidentally interrupt your game. Media Keys can be used to control volume and other media functions and the rubber feet keep it in place during play. MSRP: $49.99 USD

Modern Warfare 2 Elite Keyboard (PC) – Includes multi-colour backlighting and Tru-Vu illumination. The important gaming keys can be highlighted independently and the Cyborg system allows you to programme keyboard sequences and map them to twelve Cyborg buttons. It also features metal-plated key caps and gold-plated connectors for USB and microphone inputs. MSRP:  $49.99 USD
