1000 Rock Band Tracks By End Of 2009

General ScreenshotHarmonix is aiming for the Rock Band catalogue to have 1000 tracks by the end of 2009.

Alex Rigopulos, CEO and cofounder of Harmonix has announced at Gamescom the Rock Band catalogue already boasts over 800 tracks and aims to add an extra 200 by Christmas.

Queen, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Elton John, Iggy Pop, The White Stripes, Pantera, Talking Heads, Korn, The Raconteurs and more unannounced bands will be coming to the Rock Band Catalogue in upcoming months.

Along with this the proposed Rock Band Network feature is hoped to bring unsigned acts to the game where bands will be able to upload their own tracks and have them coded to play with Rock Band 1 or 2.

The Beatles: Rock Band is the next game in the series which will only have Beatles tracks playable in-game due to licensing restrictions and will launch 9 September on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.
