New Rage Screens

The GamesCom screens keep on coming with new shots of id’s Rage.

The screens show off the spectacular landscapes in the game, which utilises an advanced version of id’s Megatexture system (last seen in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars) allowing the developer to craft enormous single textures.

Also on show are the first person shooting and racing gameplay which will make up the core of the game.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland and, if hints from the official site are to be believed, you play a character named Benjamin Green who seems to have survived a plane crash in the wasteland. He finds himself caught between mutants and the sinister Authority Wasteland Assistance.

The game is set for release next year on PC, Mac, Ps3 and Xbox 360.
