LittleBigPlanet GOTY Edition Announced

General ScreenshotMedia Molecule has unveiled a Game of the Year edition of LittleBigPlanet.

This follows on from  hints of an announcement last month and the new version comes with a "sackful" (wahey!) of bonus content.

The new version of LBP will include 18 gamer-created levels selected by Media Molecule, as well as feature interviews with each level's designer.

In addition,  seven of the DLC packs available to download and purchase through the PlayStation Store will be included on the disc, adding even more new levels along with extra costumes, objects and stickers to create your own maps.

Included are:

  • Metal Gear Solid Level Pack - featuring the "Paintinator" paintball gun.
  • Metal Gear Solid Costumes
  • Monsters Costumes
  • Monsters Pack
  • History Costumes
  • History Pack
  • Animals Costumes

As if that wasn't enough a select few copies will include a code for the online beta of the upcoming racing title ModNations.

The original LittleBigPlanet has been included in a recent deal at UK retailer Asda with the PS3 console and games receiving a £50 GBP reduction. And if you're thinking of picking up the console along with LBP but not sure whether it is worth the money, check out our review here.

LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition launches on 8 September and will cost $59.99 USD.
