Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss Dated

Mythic has announced the release date for Ultima Online's upcoming eighth expansion, The Stygian Abyss, will be 8 September.

The update will be available via digital download, and introduces a new playable race, the Gargoyle. New areas in the game include Ter Mul, the gargoyle homeland and the largest dungeon so far in Ultima Online, the Stygian Abyss. This huge new location will contain the hardest bosses in the game to date, and a PvP area where players will have to fight each other.

The open beta for this expansion will be available on the retribution server from tomorrow, Friday 14 August until Sunday 23 August.

“As the 12th anniversary of the storied Ultima Online franchise approaches this fall, we could not be more excited to launch UO’s 8th expansion, Stygian Abyss,” said Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer for Mythic Entertainment. “On September 8th UO players past and present will be able to experience all new content, including the new Gargoyle race and one of the largest dungeons in UO history.”

Ultima Online, The Stygian Abyss will be available from UOGamesCodes.com and the EA Store and can be purchased for $29.99, or $39.99 with a 30-day game-time trial. Anyone who buys the expansion between 8 – 29 September will also receive several Alteration Tokens that transform current characters into Gargoyles, an exclusive gargoyle craftable pet, and decorative Stygian Abyss boss statues.
