China's WotLK Officially Under GAPP Review

The World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, has been submitted to the General Administration of Press and Publication in China for the last checks before being made available to the millions of players awaiting the update.

The GAPP has formally accepted the application, however, China's current version of WoW remains in closed beta until it has been given the green light by the authority. Many changes have been made already, including the removal of icons in the game that showed skulls of severed heads. Such images have been replaced with boxes, crates or bags.

The game has now been offline in China for two months, since the change of operator from The9 to its current licence holder, NetEase.
