Halo Movie Still On Hold

Despite rumours of Steven Spielberg's involvement in a Halo movie, Microsoft states that the film is still on hold.

We reported yesterday on rumours that Steven Spielberg has been tapped to make the Halo film adaptation happen, but Microsoft is still sticking to its guns and saying that the film is on hold.

Halo 3Speaking to Kotaku, a Microsoft spokesperson said "We're glad there's still a lot of enthusiasm in the entertainment industry surrounding the idea of a Halo movie. That said, the Halo feature film remains on hold as we focus on projects like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach."

The spokesperson added that they had "nothing further to share with respect to plans regarding a Halo movie."

Which is pretty much exactly what Microsoft has said several times before, even when other super-director Peter Jackson claimed the film was cancelled.

Still, the good news for Halo fans is that, as Microsoft said, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach are still coming. Check out our preview of ODST here.
