20,000 BlizzCon Tickets Sold In Eight Minutes
 Bill Vaughan

Many Blizzard fans were disappointed when they didn't get their hands on a ticket to this year's BlizzCon, but it's not surprising when you see that the 20,000  tickets which went on sale sold out within minutes.

According to Activision Blizzard's recent investor conference call, it was revealed that all 20,000 tickets, at $125 USD a pop, to the annual Blizzard event had been snapped up within eight minutes of going on sale.

Blizzard upped the number of fans allowed into the event this year after record sales at the last BlizzCon.

It's clear Blizzard fans can't get enough of the three known franchises to come out of the company; Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo, but what remains to be seen is the news that will come from the event. A World of Warcraft expansion is expected to be announced, possibly news on the completely new franchise or a word on the new MMO. Who knows, all three would be nice!

The new franchise IS the new MMO.

There are 2 titles in production, one is an MMO (that's all that's been confirmed about it) and another title that has been confirmed to be in development and also a completely new franchise but nothing beyond that. This is in addition to Diablo III, Starcraft II and the WoW Xpack.
