X-Wing/Tie Fighter Announcement Incoming?

LucasArts may be about to revive its classic X-Wing/Tie Fighter, according to recent comments from company president Darrell Rodriguez .
Rodriguez was asked by G4 whether, in the light of the recent Monkey Island revival, there were any plans to bring back the classic space combat game.
"We don’t have any announcements now, but stay tuned," said Rodriguez.
"We will soon….."
Whether it be a special edition remake or a brand new title, we're glad to hear the series might be making a return.

I went to the launch in Edinburgh of the old game back in the day and Gold Leader turned up and got nicely stewed on the free vino and was hitting on all the women there. He also had a shot of the game but was hopeless (probably something to do with the vino). He wore a big cowboy hat and was quite a character. Anyway, on topic, yes this is very welcome news.
