Aion: Latest Build Details

The developers of the upcoming MMO 'Aion' have released details of the new content which was added to the latest version of the CBT client.

As reported last week, Aion had many sounds files and more cinematics added to the game, including an introduction for each faction and video tutorials. In a developer blog, more is revealed about the process of localising Aion for western players, including a funny story about a particularly deep-voiced actor who accidentally picked up an actresses' script during the recording sesions.

Aion's team points out that the game contains a large amount of in-game cut scenes, some featuring players' characters. Here's what's gone into the localisation process so far:

Approximately 200 speaking parts
200 voiced cinematics/cut scenes
8,000-10,000 lines of dialog
45,000 voice audio files
Three weeks of recording time (not including additional voice pickups)

I tried out Aion with the all-new cut scenes and voice files over the weekend. Check out what I thought in the third part of my Aion preview tomorrow, see part one and part two as well for a better overview of the game.
