Robert Bowling, community manager at Infinity Ward, has confirmed Call of Duty Classic will be re-released as a stand-alone game.
Speaking to IGN, Bowling confirmed the original Call of Duty title would be available for gamers who did not purchase the Hardened or Prestige Edition of Modern Warfare 2 at a later date.
"Prestige and Hardened Edition buyers will be getting access to Call of Duty: Classic first. It'll eventually be coming out for both Xbox Live Arcade and PSN as a stand-alone arcade game,"
He also confirmed the game will support "full multiplayer."
With the popularity of Battlefield 1943 it will be interesting to see how the original Call of Duty does and how much it will sell for on the PSN and XBLA.
