Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Dated, Rated, Has Less Gore

Tecmo has dated Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, as well as revealing the age rating and news that the title will have less gore than its 360 predecessor.

Sigma 2, an updated PS3 version of Xbox 360 exclusive Ninja Gaiden 2, will hit American store shelves on 29 September with a European release to follow on 2 October.

The game, rated 16 by the new PEGI system, will also have less gore. Team Ninja producer Yosuke Hayashi explains on the US PlayStation Blog: "Our goal is to create one of most [sic] challenging action games and we believe that can be achieved without all of attention [sic] going to the amount of blood that is used throughout the game."

PS3 players can expect over 50 trophies - 38 bronze, 10 silver, 2 gold, and 1 platinum - as well as playable versions of Rachel, Ayane, and Momiji from other Ninja Gaiden titles, co-op Team Missions, a Chapter Challenge mode that puts your Karma score into an online leaderboard, and a whole lot more.

You can check out new screenshots of the game in our gallery below. Keep an eye out for a new trailer showing off co-op play on IncGamers TV later today.
