Script For Halo Film Written

The writer of Pirates of the Caribbean has written a script for a Halo film.

Stuart Beattie, who worked on all three Pirates films and Collateral, wrote the script during the 2007 writer's strike and it apparently based on Eric Nyland's novel Fall of Reach.

Beattie, an avid gamer, has even created concept art for the film and has sent it, along with the script, to Microsoft. .

"I really believe a Halo movie would just be awesome, especially this Halo movie." Beattie told  scifiwire.com.

The Fall of Reach story would "need" to be the first movie according to Beattie.

He added, "it sets up all the characters, the world, the Covenant, the big struggle between mankind and the aliens, all that stuff,"

The transition from game to box office has not traditionally gone too well however, see the Tomb Raider and Resident Evil franchises for examples. The Jake Gyllenhaal-starring Prince of Persia is the next title try and take Hollywood by storm, due for release in May next year,  How do you think a Halo film would fare?
