Champions Online Micro Transaction Details

Cryptic's latest State of the Game article has been released giving the latest news from the development team.

Champions OnlineA new update from Cryptic outlines how micro-transactions will be included in the game. Cryptic are thankfully going about the process very carefully so as not to alienate players who can maybe not afford to spend extra money on the MMO each month.

According to Cryptic, micro-transations will mainly include aesthetic items such as costumes and emblems, things that will not affect the gameplay. Like other MMOs, some management tools will also cost, features such as character renaming. They are keen to stress that the micro-transactions will "never limit your ability to enjoy the game or reach the level cap" and that "any micro-transaction that has a game effect can also be earned in the game through play".

In today's update there are also some quick Q&As and word that they will be ramping up the testing with Beta servers staying up the complete weekend. Stay tuned for more info on that when it comes available.
