EA apparently turned down the opportunity to make a game based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
According to UFC President Dana White, he approached EA Sports about making a UFC title before he struck a deal with THQ.
"EA Sports told us, ‘You're not a real sport,'" White told MMAJunkie in a recent interview.
"'We wouldn't touch this thing. We want nothing to do with this.'"
However two months since the release of UFC Undisputed 2009 by THQ, EA has made quite the U-turn by announcing EA Sports MMA at E3.
"They wouldn't even take a meeting because mixed martial arts disgusted them. This wasn't a real sport. Boy, they got over that real quick, didn't they?"
White also announced that any MMA fighter who agrees to appear in EA's game "won't be in the UFC,"
"EA doesn't give a [expletive] about mixed martial arts. They made that very clear."
