Midway San Diego Has 60 Days
 James Chalmers

Midway San Diego faces closure unless it receives a buyout offer in the next 60 days.

Warner Bros. is expected to complete the deal for the majority of Midway after having a bid accepted yesterday.

"We had a court hearing yesterday and the end result of that is the sale was approved and the closing will occur within the next 10 days," a company spokesperson told Joystiq.

The Midway studios in Newcastle and San Diego are not included in Warner's buyout deal and according to the spokesperson the San Diego studio has 60 days before closure.

"Since we didn't get any bids for the San Diego assets, we actually gave the employees a required 60-day warning," said the spokesperson.

"For now those employees are continuing to work and it's still entirely possible that a bidder could come in and acquire the San Diego assets."

The studio is rumoured to be developing the second TNA Impact game, and Midway has said the future of the TNA license would be uncertain if  the San Diego studio were to close.
