Red Steel 2 won't be seen on another console due to the Wii Remote.
"Red Steel 2 is Wii exclusive, and Wii MotionPlus exclusive. The core gameplay of intense, 1st-person swordplay simply doesn't function the way we want it to without the Wii Remote," said Jason Vandenberghe, creative director.
In a recent Q&A on the Red Steel 2 forums, the directors of the title answered the community's questions.
They also explained why they didn't follow on from where Red Steel finished.
"As we developed our gameplay and art style for Red Steel 2, it became clear that what we were doing would work much better in a new setting," wrote Vandenberghe, who added, "It became clear that the strong Asian-style setting and the mix of modern action gun combat plus katana-based sword fighting is something that resonates with a lot of people."
"There was room to take the franchise in a new direction while still keeping that 'Red Steel' core."
A developer Q&A is being put together at the moment and will be published soon.
