Naughty Dog has revealed more details about the upcoming sequel to Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
In a live chat with fans on the US PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog’s Amy Hennig and Evan Wells let slip some info about the single player game, the multiplayer demo and the upcoming film adaptation.
“The single player campaign is definitely going to be longer than Uncharted: Drake's Fortune,” said Evan Wells.
“We have over 90 minutes of cinematics alone! And of course we have the competitive and co-op multiplayer modes too!”
Hennig said that the single player experience has been influenced by books, comics and movies, adding “We always wanted Uncharted to capture the feel of a really great action-adventure movie, but with the player in control -- to really immerse the player in the world and the characters.”
The developers also revealed that, following the success of the recent multiplayer beta, a multiplayer demo is in the works.
“Yes, we're going to have another multiplayer demo before the game hits shelves,” said Wells.
“The exact timing isn't finalized yet, but it should be available to an even wider group this time, so if you missed the last one I don't think you'll have any problem getting in this one.”
Hennig also commented on the recent announcement that a film adaptation of Uncharted is in production.
“We're really excited about the development of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune as a movie,” she said.
“[W]e've been working with Arad Productions for the last year-and-a-half or so, and couldn't be happier about their enthusiasm for the project. We're looking forward to sharing more info with you all as soon as we can. “
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is due for release exclusively on PS3 before the end of the year.
