DarkFall Expansion And US Server Announced

Developers of the MMO Darkfall have announced that a large free expansion will be released for the game in the first week on July, followed by the launch of the first American server.

The US server will go live on 7 July and anyone wanting to have a character there from launch will need to purchase the US client. Character transfers from the EU server will take place three months after the US launch, with certain restrictions and charges applicable. More information will be announced on this in the next few days.

The expansion will include major new features and content, with PvE and PvP updates.

There is still a restriction on the number of Darkfall sales that can be made to ensure gameplay experience remains optimal. Apparently, the re-subscription rate is “very high” despite student exam time and holidays.

A new website and forum was also announced that will run alongside the current site, which will only be available to players with an active Darkfall account. Other people will be able to access the site, but will not be permitted to make comments, preventing heckling from other communities:

“The Darkfall community has always been a source of good feedback, constructive criticism, and inspiration for the Darkfall developers and we'll keep it that way by doing away with the non-constructive elements.”
