The second developer diary for MAG has been released online.
The trailer focuses on why Zipper Interactive decided on 256 players, and reveals that the game will run at 30 frames per second. The game has been designed so when all 256 players come into close combat in a map, the framerate will remain the same.
The battlefields will have a lot of density and cover for the players as Zipper didn't want 256 players put into a wide-open space and being shot from all directions without being able to retaliate.
Battles will also be forgiving, as Zipper didn't want to make it so that no-one had a chance to excel in the fights.
Maps have been promised to find battles for gamers as soon as you spawn - CJ Heine, lead level designer at Zipper Interactive, said that there "shouldn't be a lack of something to do or shoot at."
The PS3 exclusive is set to launch this year. You can see the second developer diary on the PlayStation Blog here, or check out what was in the first here.
