Tekken 6 Scenario Campaign Mode Detailed

Namco Bandai has revealed the new Campaign mode that will be a part of the title.

The mode will be a mix of beat 'em up and action game, including weapons and boss fights. Think Streets of Rage, but updated!

In a recent interview with Tekken 6 game director Katsuhiro Harada, PlayStation Blog uncovered many details on the new mode.

Two player co-op will be supported, and it's confirmed that you will be able to play this mode either online, or with a CPU ally throughout, and controls for the mode will be a blend of the Arcade mode and also that of action games.

Chain-guns and flamethrowers were present in the video, but "other various weapons" were promised.

Gamers will be able to find money and customisation items to use in the Arcade mode. We're promised that customisation items not only change the visual look of your characters but also power up your fighters, as they all come with different attributes.

"All 40 characters that are available in Arcade mode can also be used in this mode as well," said Harada, adding "all techniques they have in Arcade mode [are] available for this mode."

When asked about the length and structure of the mode it was promising to know that it will be up to you where you go in the game. "It's not a linear progression," said Harada. "It's got a world map and you can choose your path in this mode."

"One play through would probably be... 10 hours," estimated Harada, who quickly added "However, it's not a mode you would play once - in order to gain the fight money and the customisable items you might want to play through this multiple times."

Tekken 6 will be released this fall on PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP.
