GTA: Chinatown Wars Coming To PSP

Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be coming to the PSP.

The game will take advantage of the PSP’s power featuring upscaled widescreen graphics, enhanced lighting and animation.

Brand new missions will be available as you follow Huang Lee, a young Triad who has traveled to Liberty City after the mysterious death of his father.

“We’re proud to extend this truly unique handheld Grand Theft Auto experience to PSP and offer a downloadable version of Chinatown Wars for PSPgo,” said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games.

“Rockstar’s work with the GTA series has been an enormous part of the success of PlayStation platforms," said Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. “We’re excited to welcome the critically acclaimed Chinatown Wars to the outstanding line-up of great games headed to the PSP platform this fall.”

The Nintendo DS had mixed success with the title, with relatively high scores but disappointing sales.

The touch screen was vital to how the game was played and without such technology on the PSP, we're wondering how these features will be realised on the console.

Chinatown Wars will be available on UMD and also digitally from the PlayStation Network for the PSPgo in North America and Europe this fall. Check out our review of the Nintendo DS version here.
