Uncharted 2 Single Player Details

An E3 video has emerged showing Uncharted 2’s single player game in action.

The video, from Playstationlifestyle.net, highlights how the game engine has been enhanced and showcases a number of new features.

From the video, it’s clear that the game boasts a wide variety of new animations and there are also new ways to take down an enemy. One scene shows Drake shoot an enemy twice before sliding down at his knees and putting in the fatal blow.

The environment is once again a focal point of the game, highlighted when an attack helicopter closes in on Drake, its down-force moving the scenery below. The draw distance and amount of detail in the scenery is also impressive.

Drake can now use gas cylinders as weapons, throwing them at enemies and then shooting them to explode. A lot of the familiar weapons from the first game were also confirmed in the video, including the AK and the shotgun.

The cover system also seems to have been enhanced - Drake can now flip tables over for cover, as well as using the standard system on pillars and walls.

The video confirms the single player will be longer than the original and multiplayer will also be incorporated into the game. Even though only deathmatch was available at E3 other play modes will be added. The game will also support downloadable content.

Uncharted 2 is exclusive for PlayStation 3 and will release November 2009.
