Surprise Eminem And JAY-Z Performance At E3

Eminem and JAY-Z performed together yesterday to promote FreeStyleGames' DJ Hero.

The event took place on Monday night at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles.

Activision recently announced JAY-Z and Eminem will contribute some of their songs to DJ Hero and will collaborate on a special edition game version. The special edition will include an advanced turntable controller, a metal DJ stand/travelling case and two music CD compilations with hits and mixes from each artist. Both artists will provide downloadable content over the year to give DJ Hero players fresh mixes of their material.

Eminem commented on the collaboration saying "DJ'ing is an essential part of hip-hop and DJ Hero will give people all over the chance to experience the music from the other side of the turntables." JAY-Z added that "a DJ has the ability to use music to control people's emotions and is responsible for the entire vibe of a room, a club or a party," and said DJ Hero will bring this experience to the players.

The game works on similar premises as Guitar Hero, and other music games, but tries to add further depth in how the turntable controller for the game works. The game has visual representations for scratching, blending, cross fading and sampling. The game will feature tracks from a lot more artists than Eminem and JAY-Z alone.
