Cooking Mama 3 Announced

505 Games has announced that a sequel to the popular Cooking Mama will be released in time for Christmas this year.

Cooking Mama 3 on the Nintendo DS will offer new features to the cooking game, including over 80 recipes, 200 mini games and four player multiplay. Two new game modes will also be available; 'What dish can I make?' allows players to choose two ingredients from a list, then Cooking Mama will come up with a recipe involving those items. 'Lets go shopping' requires players to memorise ingredients as Cooking Mama sends them out to buy food.

“Mama provides a truly unique gameplay experience which can’t be replicated and always delivers,” commented Ian Howe, managing director of 505 Games. “Cooking Mama remains our most successful series to date and we know Cooking Mama 3 will only serve to build upon its existing legacy.”

The original Cooking Mama remains the highest selling third party DS game of all time. The series branched out in March as Gardening Mama was released.
