EA studio DICE has announced a community challenge for Battlefield 1943 which will unlock an additional bonus map called "Coral Sea".
When Battlefield 1943 ships it will include three maps (Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, and Wake Island) and a possible fourth bonus map. The WWII Coral Sea map will be unlocked when the multiplayer community achieves 43 million kills on Xbox Live and the same number on PSN. Players will be able to track their console communities at battlefield.com/1943.
The bonus map is an airplanes-only map designed to showcase "intense battle in the skies" with a new air superiority game mode.
All four maps will be playable at E3.
Battlefield 1943 is due for release on Xbox Live (1200 MS Points) and PSN (£9 GBP, $15 USD) this summer on consoles, and for PC in September.
We'll be at the event keeping you up to date with all the information. Make sure you sign up to our E3 page to stay informed as the announcements are made.
