Gaijin Entertainment and 1C have released new screens from its upcoming air combat sim, IL2-Sturmovik: Birds of Prey.
The WW2 game features some of the most famous aerial battles of the war and players will need to get to grips with flying fighters, bombers and battle planes throughout a range of missions.
The game includes five theatres of battle: The Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Berlin, Sicily and Korsun and apparently “boasts the most realistic landscapes and aircraft seen in any flight sim.”
With an impressive heritage – the original Sturmovik game and its expansions sat very near the top of the PC flight sim tree – and an all new damage effects engine on offer, this could be the flight sim consoles are waiting for.
The game is due for release on PS3, Xbox 360, DS and PSP sometime this year,
