Apogee has made its promised Duke Nukem announcement, which has nothing to do with Duke Nukem Forever.
The announcement, coming shortly after the closure of 3D Realms, doesn't mention Duke Nukem Forever or 3D Realms, instead stating that the company is looking for a real-life Duke.
The public - male and female - are invited to submit videos proving that they're the best choice for a live-action Duke Nukem. The winner will be paid to tour the world, promoting the forthcoming Duke Nukem Trilogy game.
This announcement has left a sour taste in the mouths of some, with posts on forum threads finding this to be in poor taste considering the fate of Duke Nukem Forever. The name of the site - "Duke Is Back" - has been cited for this, in particular.
