The screenwriter of the upcoming Gears of War film has stated that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could be a good fit for the role of Marcus Fenix.
Speaking to the MTV Movie Blog, writer Chris Morgan (Wanted, Fast & Furious) said he has found it difficult to write for the character without an actor in place. He stated that the film needs “a really f’ing good actor to pull off being a silent tough guy and put some humanity into it.” When asked who could fit the bill, Morgan was full of praise for wrestler-turned-actor Johnson.
“The Rock is awesome,” Morgan said of wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson. “There’s a genuine actor. Not only can he play the tough guy, but he can also play the nuanced, sensitive funny sad moments as well. But finding that guy is incredibly difficult.”
