If a Final Fantasy XIII demo is released in the West, it may be downloadable rather than on Blu-Ray.
Square-Enix's Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of Final Fantasy XIII, told Videogamer that a Blu-Ray demo release was unlikely.
"The type of demo we released in Japan, we currently have no plan of doing that abroad, partly because we are going to carry on the project alongside the Xbox version, so we can't just make it available only for the PS3."
Contain your disappointment, however, as Kitase added "But we hear that the demo version normally means something that you can download in the West, so that is a possibility we would like to check."
We imagine that any such demo won't be for awhile yet. The game is due out in Japan late this year, and we're not sure where localising a demo would fit into the company's busy schedule.

While this doesn't prove that a Western demo is definitely coming, oreven in the works, it's certainly nice to know that Square-Enix arestill thinking of us.
