WET Picked Up By Bethesda

Bethesda has announced it’ll be publishing previously dropped Activision Vivendi title, WET.

The stylised, Grindhouse-esque, 70s acrobatic shooter, follows the story of female protagonist Rubi; a contemporary Clint Eastwood type character whose past we know nothing about.

Rubi is pretty handy with guns, has excellent sword skills and is as acrobatic as a flying squirrel.  Because of this, Rubi is a all jumping, all sliding, all running, all killing machine and enjoys stringing together as many combos as possible.

The story sees Rubi travelling across the world, and include levels in San Francisco, London and Shanghai.

Because the game is inspired by the Grindhouse-style, the game has been given an authentic visual treatment, original 70s music and a good helping of humour.

Rubi will be voiced by actress Eliza Dushku from film Bring It On and television series Tru Calling, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

The game’s script has been written by Duppy Demetrius, a contributor to the highly successful television series, 24.

The game is due for a autumn release and will be available on 360 and PS3.  You can check out screens from the game here.

Look out for our preview later on this week.
