More rumours have surfaced about a potential successor to the PSP.
We've reported previously on rumours that have come out of unnamed sources, and now more unnamed sources are speaking.
PocketGamer have been talking to a developer who is apparently working on the PSP2/PSP 4000. If the source is reliable, then the forthcoming system will apparently be similar in many ways to the iPhone.
We can expect a large sliding touchscreen, beneath which will be buttons, a D-pad, and - most importantly - dual analogue sticks. This is apparently in a bid to appeal to the casual market with the touchscreen, in addition to the hardcore market through the much-desired dual analogue sticks.
The source also seems to imply, as we've heard before, that there will be no UMD slot, with all games up for digital download from the PlayStation Store.
This is, as ever, all rumours, but most of them seem to be focusing on the same things, which does add a degree of credibility. We expect we'll hear more before too long, as if the source is to be believed, the system will be on sale before Christmas, and full specs and pricing will be unveiled at E3.
