Star Trek Online Fiction Update

Cryptic has updated its fiction section, giving Star Trek fans more information about events in the lead up to Star Trek Online's time period.

This latest update covers the year 2386, in which the Romulans decide to re-home the Remans. Their home planet, Remus, has been extensively over-mined and the Romulan Mining Guild claims that to avoid a Praxis situation, the mining operations there should be shut down. It is agreed the Remans are to be moved to the planet of Crateris, a world rich in dilithium, decalithium and heavy metals.

The Romulans are also kept busy with political scandal involving assassinations and espionage, and the Klingons sharpen their Daqtaghs as the Gorn re-enforce their borders after a new King ascends the throne. Open conflict then ensues, resulting in the Klingons taking the Gorn colony Gila VI.

Worf (of TNG fame) weds Grilka with many Klingon and Starfleet members present. Data shows at the wedding and announces he would like to return to Starfleet. He is successful, promoted to Captain, and is set to oversee the the refit of the Enterprise-E, which he later becomes captain of.
