Microsoft have announced that the wireless microphones used for its singing game Lips will soon be functional in similar rhythm-action games.
The first to benefit will apparently be Guitar Hero: Metallica, which looks like it'll work with the wireless, motion-sensing, LED-clad microphones straight out of the box.
Later, in summer, a title update for the Xbox 360 will add functionality for the microphones to Rock Band 2.
These don't look like they'll be the only games getting the Lips treatment, though, with the press release telling us that additional titles supporting the mics will be available later this year. Whether this means future games will support the microphones, or whether there will be title updates to make the mics function in previously released games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero: World Tour, is pure speculation at this point.
Obviously, the Lips mics will only work on Xbox 360.
