Konami has secured the rights to publish the popular horror title SAW for the PC, 360 and PS3 following the demise of Brash Entertainment.
Scheduled for launch this autumn to coincide with the release of Lionsgate's Saw IV, Konami is said to have high hopes for the franchise according to Variety. David Daniels, director of marketing for Konami added "Because we have leadership in the survival horror genre, we're passionate about it and wanted to find another property on par with 'Silent Hill".
Zombie has been tasked with developing the game which will feature an original plot. The game will take place in an asylum where player have to solve puzzles based around Jigsaw's "signature traps" and decide whether or not to save Jigsaw's victims.
"'Silent Hill' is more about psychological terror, but 'Saw' for us is more about graphic, intense horror that overwhelms you," explained Daniels. "We want players to turn away from the screen for just a moment because of the visual intensity."
