Resident Evil 6 could be anywhere from four to eight years away - if it appears at all.
Speaking to Resident Evil 5 producer, Masachika Kawata, The Gadget Show (thanks, Kotaku) asked whether the gap between Resident Evil 5 and 6 would take as long as Resident Evil 4 to 5.
Kawata responded "We haven't decided whether we're going to make a Resident Evil 6 yet. But if we do, it could take anywhere up to eight years, but hopefully only four."
This ties in with what we've heard from Jun Takeuchi, Resi's series producer, too - that Resi 6 will be something new. He said, awhile back, that "a reboot is in order for the inevitable Resident Evil 6."
And we'd agree on the "inevitable" part, too. It's a series featuring zombies - it can't lie dead for too long.
