Hellgate Patched for Koreans
 Paul Younger

Hanbitsoft has released a v1.5 patch for Hellgate London, but its only for Koreans.

European and US Hellgate gamers have been left in the lurch once again as Korean players have received another update to the action RPG Hellgate London. While Hanbitsoft is restoring the game for Korean players, they don't have any rights to continue updating or running the game in EU and US territories which has resulted in western fans of the game becoming increasingly frustrated.

The new v1.5 patch includes Mode Merger, Achievement Reward System, Instance Swtiching and Item Linking. The mode merger merges normal and Elite mode so all players will end up playing together but Elite players will keep their 'Elite' mark and also be granted special titles.

The achievement rewards system rewards players who complete challenge achievements with ‘- + To all attributes’, ‘Health injectors’ and etc. Instance switching via the user interface allowing easier match-up with other players. Item linking allows players to link their items in the chat window to help trading within the game.

Western gamers won't see any of these updates any time soon so if you see Hellgate on the shop shelves still, and it is still being stocked by retailers, give it a body-swerve.

But is there anyone playing it in US and Euro anyway? It's such a shame how the whole Hellgate: London episode has played out. I had such high hopes for it and now it's left in tatters.
