LotRO Developer Diary: Lothlórien Quest Notes

The latest 'Quest Notes' article from LotRO developers has been released, revealing details about quests in the upcoming Volume 2 Book 7 update.

Volume 2 Book 7 is a large update that has just begun its test phase. Once on the live servers, players may be reunited with (most of) the fellowship of the ring in Lothlórien, a new area the update. However, it will be necessary to prove yourself to the Elves of Lothlórien before gaining access, and this can be done by completing quests given by a couple of named NPCs. If players have already aided Lady Galadriel in Book 6 and gazed into the mirror at the end of chapter 9 though, they will already be trusted by the elves and any further quests will not be needed before proceeding.

The Quest Notes also reveals that a new way into the epic story is available in this upgrade. It's advised that players complete the stories in LotRO in the order they are presented, but it is possible to begin the quest chain here without completing the previous stories.

There are many quest hubs within Lothlórien, so once players are inside there will be plenty to do. The developers have also introduced the ability to command NPCs, which is part of a new battle instance that has a completion deed and optional battle objectives to carry out.
