Star Trek Online: New Raptor Class Klingon Ship Revealed

A new type of Klingon vessel, the Raptor class, has appeared on the Star Trek Online official site.

This new type of ship, as described on the Star Trek Online site, has the looks of the Raptor class of the 22nd century, but whereas the old model was more of a scouting ship, capable of hit and run attacks, this new version can pack a punch.

Larger than its predecessor and armed to the teeth with weapons at the front and rear, the Raptor can take on multiple enemies at once. It's also f**ed with an improved cloaking device, allowing speeds of warp six and higher without possibility of detection. Technology 'borrowed' from federation ships has allowed these vessels to be armoured with Ablative tetraburnium alloy hull plating, making the Raptor a very dangerous destroyer.

The only obvious weakness the Raptor possesses is the lack of adequate medical facilities. So much room is taken up with weapons and shield generators that the ships are not prepared to deal with large numbers of wounded. However, knowing Klingons, they'd rather die fighting than in the medical bay.
