LotRO's Test Server Opens For Major Update

Turbine has announced that a new test server, Bullroarer, will open for testing of Volume 2 Book 7, the next Lord of the Rings Online major update.

A copy of the Elendilmir server will be made on Bullroarer, allowing players from that server to test new content using copies of their own characters. Players from other servers may simply make new characters to test the update, but once Turbine has gathered all the data needed they will enable the 'Eyes and Guard Tavern', where players will be able to auto-level up their characters to test out the high-end content.

Volume 2 Book 7 introduces many new features including:

• The new self-revive mechanic
• Induction times (time spent interacting with game objects) reduced
• Monster Play emotes
• New area: Lothlórien, with new quests and a new faction, the Elves of Lothlórien
• New player Experience overhaul
• New quest guide intergrated with the quest tracker
• New 12 man raid
• Crafting instances
• XP curve change (faster levelling speed)

Many more changes are included with the update, though any are subject to change before it goes live. See the full patch notes for more information.
