New Dead To Rights Game Unveiled

Namco Bandai has announced it will publish a new Dead to Rights game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Described by the publisher as a “reimagining” of the crime drama series, Dead to Rights: Retribution sees the return of Jack Slate and his vicious canine sidekick, Shadow, as they fight to expose the criminals who exert a stranglehold over the decaying Grant City.

Like its predecessors, Retribution features a mix of third person shooting and close-combat and Jack will be aided throughout by Shadow’s AI. The game will feature the now-obligatory cover system and Jack will have a variety of special disarms and takedowns at his disposal as he fights his way through Grant City’s underworld. Players will also have the opportunity to play as Shadow in some sections of the game, allowing Jack to proceed while making sure any enemy threats are covered.

Development duties lie with Volatile Games and Retribution is expected to be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 before the end of the year.

“Dead to Rights: Retribution is a fresh look at the franchise, with a ground-up design for the game mechanics, world, characters and narrative,” said Volatile Games’ Imre Jele.

“We’ve reimagined Dead to Rights for both fans of the franchise and a brand new audience alike.”
