Following yesterday's EGO engine video which offered a glimpse of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising in action, Codemasters has released a new batch of screens.
The sequel to one of the most popular tactical shooters of all time is set on the 220km2 island of Skira, located off the oil-rich eastern coast of Russia. Like its predecessor, the game will feature open-world, tactical action allowing the player to take control of a US Marine and a Special Forces officer as they battle the Chinese PLA.
The sequel is being developed internally by Codemasters following its split from Bohemia Interactive, the developer of the original Operation Flashpoint game. Bohemia has since released ArmA: Armed Assault which is currently thriving in the hands of the mod community. ArmA II is also in development, check out a trailer here.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is due for release this summer on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. We think Codies might just have one of the biggest games of 2009 on their hands.
