More Details on TF2 Scout Update

Valve's Team Fortress 2 site has been updated with more news on next week's Scout update.

The two community maps included in the update will be Arena_Watchtower and CP_Junction, which contrast nicely. Watchtower is an arena map with a lot of open vertical space and open sight lines, with a huge watchtower dominating the level, while Junction is a map closer in scope to Gravel Pit, with a lot of tight spaces.

The site also reports that the Scout will receive the "Bonk" energy drink. While the exact mechanics aren't clear from the text, the text reads, "Just one can’ll blast ya into a few-second rush of radioactive energyso powerful you’ll be dodgin’ bullets like they ain’t even there!" Whether or not this will actually make attacks have a chance to miss the scout, or whether it will just boost the Scout's speed even further, is unclear.

Every item has a downside, however, and in this case, "After the beneficial effects weap off, drinkawf rn th,s raseers havereported experiencing feelings of lethargy that can last severalseconds." Speed burst in exchange for a recovery period? Sounds fair to us.

Finally, the page detailing the "Bonk" drink also has a list of the new achievements that will be added - or at least, pictures and names, but no text as to how players can actually achieve them.

We previously reported that the Scout would be receiving the Sandman bat as an additional weapon. This marks the third update to the Scout site, with another expected later today.
