Blizzard Lead Producer Moves To New MMO
 Tamer Asfahani

Jeff KaplanIncGamers has learned that Jeffrey Kaplan, World of Warcraft (WoW) lead producer, has confirmed that he is moving to Blizzard's upcoming, untitled MMO.

Leaving the daily grind to the ever capable Tom Chilton and J. Allen Brack, Kaplan still intends to have some involvement with the game.

"I still plan to be very involved with the future course of World of Warcraft," and goes on to say that WoW "is still my favourite game."

In closing, Kaplan again thanks the team and the audience that made WoW a success, expressing his desire to make Blizzards new MMO just as successful.

"If anything, [the success of WoW] fuels the challenge of making our next MMO even better."

This little snippet of information may mean that the new Blizzard MMO is closer to completion than we think, and we're sure we'll hear an announcement from Blizzard soon, possibly at its anticipated gaming conventions BlizzCon or Worldwide Invitational.

So, it is assuredly an MMO then. At least the rumour mongering abotu what genre their other title is can stop.

I don't think it'll be set in the Diablo or Starcraft universes. It'll be something completely new.

Awesome news. Really hope this is the year this secret project is officially announced. Would be sweet to hear about it at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals and be able to get hands-on gameplay at Blizzcon.

Well, I sure hope it will be a SC MMO, but as you say, they have SAID that it will be something else. I just hope it isn't....

Maybe all this fuss about Starcraft Ghost in China has some relevance?
