EVE Breaks User Record

As CCP prepares for the Apocrypha launch, it has announced EVE Online has broken player records.

EVE is proving as popular as ever and continues to grow. Recently CCP broke its PCU (Peak Concurrent User) record with 48,065 people in the same persistent game world at the same time, breaking January's record of 45,186. With the release of the Apocrypha free expansion those figures are sure to rise once again.

It's been a busy week in the world of EVE with defections and assassinations all having been talking points for the community. The latest CCP update highlights a few points of interest, especially additions to the Developer blog.

The recent blog additions discuss the new features that are being added in the March 10th update covering topics such as the addition of the skill queue. The blog is being updated quite regularly and topics include wormholes and exploration, a new NPC race and revamped NPC AI and a reimagining of the New Player Experience

Finally, CCP Wanted to remind everyone of the boxed copy retail version that's being released in conjunction with Atari at the same time as the release of Apocrypha.
