A report detailing the income of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) has revealed that EA paid the union over $35m USD in 2007 for player rights in its Madden franchise.
Former Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Dave Pear posted the NFLPA's 2007 LM-2 report on his blog (thanks Games Politics) as part of his ongoing fight to highlight the union's spending.
The report shows that the NFLPA received $35,141,950 USD from EA's Redwood HQ in 2007. The figure does not include the licensing fees paid to the NFL itself for team names, stadiums, logos and other data.
