EA finally issues a new reelase date for the Sims 3 following release delay.
Following the news that the game had been delayed, EA has announced a new release date for the Sims 3. The next installment is set to hit retailers worldwide on June 2nd.
It was never clear as to why the game had been pushed back but a statement from EA's Vice President of Marketing Russell Arons shed some light on the situation.
"The June launch combined with the break-through game the team isbuilding gives us the perfect runway to create awareness for The Sims3. TheSims 3 will be the original IP summer blockbuster of 2009 as webuild off the success of the best-selling PC franchise of all time tocreate awareness with both loyal Sims fans and new players.”
With summer being a slow release period, and having more time to promote the game, EA should be able to grab gamers' attention.
