Students at UC Berkely are now able to gain college credits for studying StarCraft thanks to a new course that's been set up.
Strategy gaming has infiltrated Berkeley University with news that a new course is available which offers in-depth analysis of how war is conducted within Starcraft. The course covers various aspects of the game, from the viewpoint of pure theory to the more computational aspects of how exactly battles are conducted.
Students be warned though, the course requires participants to be familiar with all units and some basic Starcraft strategy. Also recommended are calculus and differential equations for a full understanding of the course. Not just a session of game playing then, it seems.
Students will also have to write an essay on their contribution to the StarCraft community.
There's more on this story over on StarCraftWire.Net where an in interviews with the course creator will be posted in the coming days.
