Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has confirmed the highly-anticipated 1.30 patch for SOCOM: Confrontation will not be released before the end of the year.
SCEA's Seth Luisi made a statement on the game's official website explaining that the team hope to provide a "much more stable experience for the 1.30 update." However, although the patch is nearly complete, it will not be ready before the end of the year.
"Unfortunately, due to the Holidays the update will not be approved by SCE Format QA until early next year," said Luisi.
"Our QA staff will be here, testing the game over vacation, but the SCE QA teams which must approve the update before release will not. Again, these teams must approve all titles and updates before they can be released. We are unable to release the 1.30 update without their approval. As much as I would like to play Scrooge, it is impossible for us to cancel their vacation and get them to approve it over the holiday. "
He goes on to state that the update will most likely be ready in the week commencing 5 January or 12 January.
"We understand that a lot of you were hoping to play the 1.30 update over the break and we really wanted to make that happen," he added.
"However, our primary goal is to make sure that the 1.30 update lives up to everyone's expectations and more time was needed to make that happen."
SOCOM: Confrontation has been plagued with stability issues since its launch on the PS3 and reviews of the game have been mixed as a result.
