Following Valve's announcement that it is implementing regional pricing for the UK and European Union, there has been some confusion as to how this affects game prices.
Despite recent reports, IncGamers can confirm that UK Steam users will not be paying over the odds for their games. Valve has recently restructured its pricing so that the dollar is equal to the euro, causing much uproar on the Steam forums. Now, European users are paying up to €49.99 EUR for games such as Call of Duty 4, the equivalent to $71.97 USD.
Fears that UK gamers would also be hit with price rises can be laid to rest, however, as a quick check on the Steam shop shows that the UK pricing system is more in line with international exhange rates. Call of Duty 4, for example, will set British gamers back £29.99 GBP, around $45 USD.
